The Colombian Exchange
The benefits and drawbacks of European and Native American interaction. The Native Americans and the Europeans both benefited from the Colombian exchange. Europeans brought livestock that did not exist in the U.S. Animals such as Pigs, Cattle and horses. This allowed the Indians to hunt more efficiently and have a faster way of transportation. The Europeans also brought grains such as barley and wheat. Good things came from this interaction but there were also some negative effects. The Natives were not immune to some of the diseases the Europeans had and as a result 90% died from sicknesses that were brought over by the Europeans.
Loyalists VS Patriots
As the American Revolution approached there were many differing views as to what the colonies should do next. Loyalists thought that the colonies should stay under the control of the king. They believed he had helped them through so much that he should rule over everything. The king also started to tax the colonies because the French and Indian war was costly for the British. A Patriot believes that the colonies should be free and not be taxed by someone across the ocean. They felt that the goods they had been sending over was enough but adding taxes and laws was too much. Neutrals often chose there side with who ever they got the best profit from.
